The premise is that a bastard child of a deceased nobleman is welcomed by her uncle and half-sister to stay with them for the summers. Summers at Castle Auburn is a beautiful coming of age story that welcomes the reader into the young mind of a teenager as she matures and discovers the complexities if the world around her. The first half of the book has a charming yet oblivious naïveté until hard truths cause Corrie's world to come crashing down in a way we all can relate/5().
